Φυσικά, το όρος Άθως είναι το πιο διάσημο μέρος σε όλο το νομό της Χαλκιδικής. Αποτελείται από 20 ορθόδοξα μοναστήρια και είναι γνωστό ως Αυτόνομη Μοναστική Πολιτεία του Αγίου Όρους. Οι μοναχοί ζουν λιτά εδώ και μόνο άντρες επιτρέπεται να επισκέπτονται το μοναστήρι.
Το Σπήλαιο των Πετραλώνων αποτελεί ένα από τα πιο δημοφιλή αξιοθέατα της περιοχής. Παρότι έχει παραμείνει κλειστό επί αρκετά χρόνια λόγω εργασιών αποκατάστασης, έχει ανακοινωθεί ότι θα ανοίξει ξανά πριν το καλοκαίρι του 2023. Αυτό το γνωστό σπήλαιο εντυπωσιάζει τους επισκέπτες με τους σταλαγμίτες και τους σταλακτίτες του. Ο Αρχάνθρωπος των Πετραλώνων που ανακαλύφθηκε εδώ το 1960 φαίνεται να χρονολογείται πριν 700.000 χρόνια. Πολλά παλαιολιθικά ευρήματα έχουν, επίσης, ανασκαφτεί σε αυτή τη σπηλιά. Ο φάρος στο Ποσείδι είναι ένα ακόμη σημαντικό κτήριο που χτίστηκε το 1864 και μπορεί να τον δει κανείς στο τέλος της παραλίας Ποσείδι. Εντυπωσιάζει τους επισκέπτες με τους λευκούς τοίχους του, το όμορφο αρχιτεκτονικό στυλ του και τον θαυμάσιο κήπο που τον περιβάλλει. Ο πύργος του Προσφόριου στην Ουρανούπολη χτίστηκε κατά τον 14ο αιώνα από μοναχούς της μονής Βατοπεδίου. Είναι ο πιο μεγάλος πύργος στη Χαλκιδική κι έχει διατηρηθεί καλά. Θα ήταν μια ωραία εμπειρία να τον επισκεφτείτε και να δείτε από κοντά αυτό το ενδιαφέρον τμήμα της τοπικής ιστορίας. Είναι εμφανές ότι η Χαλκιδική διαθέτει πλούσια ιστορία και πολιτισμική παράδοση που σίγουρα αξίζει να ανακαλύψετε κατά τη διαμονή σας.
